Preparing for Your First Visit

At Auckland South Chiropractic, we are dedicated to supporting your health goals and helping you feel and function at your best. As a new practice member, your care experience begins with us.

Pre-Care Visit: Getting Acquainted

Your first visit is an opportunity to familiarise yourself with our office and meet our compassionate team. We’ll conduct a quick assessment to determine whether chiropractic care may be suitable for you and begin explaining how our approach to care works. Together, we’ll outline the next steps moving forward.

Navigating Your Initial Consultation

Your chiropractor will take the time to discuss your health history and gain a clearer understanding of your overall wellbeing. We will also talk through your symptoms and how they may be affecting your daily life.

A thorough physical examination, including range of motion, flexibility, muscle strength, balance, and coordination, helps us better understand how your body is moving and functioning.

Understanding Your Personalised Plan

Your report of findings visit is where we review the results of your initial consultation and explain our recommendations moving forward. We’ll discuss the key findings, answer your questions, and explain the principles behind chiropractic care.

Following this discussion, you may receive your first spinal adjustment, and together we’ll create a customised care plan designed to support your health and wellbeing goals.

The Different Phases of Care

Chiropractic care is not simply about relieving symptoms. Many people also choose care to support comfort, movement, and overall function over time. As your body responds to care, your visits will typically move through different phases.

Most people begin here. When the body is under stress, more frequent visits may help support adaptation and recovery over time. During this phase, symptoms often begin to ease, movement may improve, and many people report feeling more comfortable and relaxed.

These early improvements are often the beginning of ongoing changes within the body.

As the body becomes more stable and comfortable, visits generally become less frequent and the focus shifts towards supporting longer-term improvements. During this phase, many people notice improved movement, better function, and greater day-to-day comfort. Consistency can help support lasting changes over time.

Once people are functioning well, many practice members choose to continue with regular wellness care to help maintain their progress.

Rather than waiting for stress and tension to build again, ongoing care may help support flexibility, posture, mobility, and overall wellbeing throughout different stages of life.
